About OpenBid
The government buys from businesses like yours. Finding the work should not be the hard part.
Why OpenBid exists
Every day, federal agencies post work they need done: mowing, cleaning, repairs, training, software, supplies. Much of it is meant for small businesses, and some of it fits nonprofits.
The listings are public, but they are written for people who already know the system. The official site is hard to search, the notices are full of codes, and a newcomer can spend an evening on it and come away with nothing.
OpenBid takes those same public listings and makes them usable. Tell us what you do, in your own words, and see the open bids that fit, with who can bid and when it is due.
What makes it different
Plain English
Each bid is explained in everyday words: what the agency wants, who can bid, and the deadline.
Built for beginners
Everyday work a small business can do comes first. Aircraft parts and the like are still there, but they do not crowd the page.
Nonprofits too
A page of federal contracts a nonprofit can go after, with the set-asides that do not apply to them left out.
Easy to read
Large type, strong contrast and big buttons, on a phone as well as a computer.
Where the listings come from
Every bid on OpenBid comes from public federal sources and is refreshed twice a day. OpenBid is an independent service. It is not a government website and is not endorsed by any agency. Always confirm dates and requirements on the official notice before you respond.
